   The Rev. David J. Farley was born September 6, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan. He attended the Christian day school of Lola Park
Lutheran Church in Detroit. At the age of 12 he moved with his parents to the Twin City, Minnesota, area. He .attended St. Croix" Lutheran High School, West St. Paul, Minnesota. He was graduated from Northwestern College, Watertown, Wisconsin in 1976.
He served his vicarship in Clare County, Michigan. Upon his graduation f'rom Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 1980 he was assigned to the work of mission development in the Detroit metropolitan area, where he led in the formation of a congregation in Novi, Michigan.
   He was united in marriage with Winifred Ericson of St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 10, 1978. Their infant son Paul was born on September 26 of this year.
